The student elective presentations were held in the Alex MacGregor lecture theatre and as always the standard was very high.  The external examiner was former member of staff Professor Alistair Sloan who is now at Cardiff Dental School and he was joined by Prof Deborah White, Michelle Holder and Sarah Franks, President of BUDSS (Dental Student Society).

The Board of Examination awarded the Elective Prizes as follows

  • The Dental Student Society Prize For Best Overall Elective Presentation to Sagar Shah with Certificates Of Merit to Sunaina Gandhi and Shiraz Khan
  • Sands Cox John Rippin Memorial Prize For Best Report  to Yatisha Patel
  • The BDA / Dentsply Students Clinician Prize to Yatisha Patel

The Board of Examiners would like to thank all the presenters on such a high standard this year.  The External Examiner, Prof Sloan, commented on the quality of research and presentations from the Final Year Students.  Dr Hill, Chief Elective Co-ordinator, thanked the Year 4 students on being an attentive audience “Thank you very much and we look forward to your presentation next year.”
