The ADEE meeting at Birmingham will forever be remembered as the “Learn and be happy meeting”. Delegates left the Congress on Saturday afternoon filled with enthusiasm for the new term. The educational content of the meeting was at the highest level with excellent talks from all our speakers. At the official opening reception in the Great Hall, our students made us proud with an exhibition of their talent both by dance and voice. The Gala dinner at the Council House was a fitting highlight to the conference with delegates admiring the stunning art collection of the city. The dinner included speeches where the local organising committee received special thanks and for ADEE’s outgoing Swedish President, an ABBA tribute band. This was well received by all our European delegates. There was so much to comment on including the fantastic student and staff support from Birmingham. The conference team of David Oram supported by Liz and George plus the many other helpers said yes to everything and this was appreciated by everyone form our generous sponsors to the delegates.
But there was one winner throughout the whole conference. The School of Dentistry at the University of Birmingham which was able to deliver a first class conference.
The message below is from the President of ADEE, Cecilia Christerson.
