Another nail biting match treated the huge turnout for the annual staff vs student cricket match. The staff batted first under the leadership of newly appointed captain Mr HS Patanwala.
Mr Y Bulsara got the staff off to cracking start despatching the students bowling to the boundary on a regular basis. He excellently supported by former students Hurj and Bilal. Together the staff amassed a respectable total. The chase would be a tough one for the strong student team. However they didn’t account for intelligent swing bowling of a certain Mr L Mackenzie. He soon had the students in trouble with an early wicket. Then tables were turned once again as the mighty Chris Beach entered the stage despatching the bowling to all areas of the ground. Hostile bowling from Raj Kooner and Adeel provided some order. However it was left to the old boys Mr Mackenzie and Mr Patanwala to take 7 wickets and finish the students hopes of retaining the trophy.
Man of the match was awarded to Mr Mackenzie for taking 3 wickets despite a large haematoma on his bowling hand, courtesy of Chris. A special mention goes out to the large support for the game from final years, third years and school of hygiene.
