Stefan Serban, DMD, MPH,  Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher and PhD student provides a flavour of the recent Pan European IADR meeting.

Dubrovnik was the host of the 7th Meeting of the Pan European Region of the International Association for Dental Research (PER – IADR). This year’s  meeting took place between 10-13 of September in the sunny, medieval city from the south of Croatia. Before the official start of the conference a one day satellite workshop was held on oral health inequalities in the context of the IADR Global Oral Health Inequalities Research Agenda (GOHIRA).
The PER IADR Conference was attended by several hundreds of researchers, clinicians and academics from all around the world, especially from the European Region.

Brum Dentists was well represented by a group composed of senior staff, PhD students and clinicians. We delivered poster and oral presentations about some of the main research projects that are going on in our school. The conference represented a great opportunity for learning about the latest developments in oral health research, to make new contacts which can lead to future collaborations and to show the world the high quality research that is done at Birmingham Dental School.
