It is a great pleasure to announce that Birmingham Dental School students have been incredibly successful in the British Endodontic Society Harty Prize 2014.
Satnam Singh Virdee (Graduated 2013) was joint winner and Vinson Yeung (4th BDS) was joint runner-up.
This highly sought after prize with a value of £1000 to the winner and a year’s free membership to the society for the runners-up was fiercely contested by over 25 entrants. The winner (and sometimes the runners-up) are invited to attend a BES national meeting for the presentation of the prize in London with all expenses paid.
The essay title for next year’s Harty prize has recently been announced as:
“Teeth that have root fillings that are satisfactory on a radiograph can fail, whereas teeth that have root fillings that are not, can succeed. Discuss the potential reasons for this, and the implications it might have on the decision to retreat?’
If you are interested in applying please find further details on the BES website http://www.britishendodonticsociety.org.uk/profession/awards/harty-prize.html
Any staff that are specialists or have a special interest in endodontics would be more than happy to provide some support to get you started.
