BDSA conference was held in London this year and hosted by Kings College and Barts. What an eventful weekend! It all kicked off with T-shirt night in the quirky Shoreditch area with the Birmingham students effortlessly pulling off a lime green top. Having left our souls on the dance floor and feeling very sorry for ourselves, we made it to the lectures the next morning which were held on Guys campus at London Bridge. The lectures were stimulating covering topics on DFT1 training, dentistry abroad, cosmetic dentistry and specialising in periodontics. Friday night was spent in Leicester Square and was themed ‘Westend’. Birmingham pulled out all the stops with their outfits from ‘Cats the musical’. The trade fair held on Saturday afternoon was packed full of stalls for Loupes, Royal college of surgeons, Elective information and of course lots of dental freebies! The ball was held that night at the fabulous venue The Brewery, in Barbican. Entertainment was provided and included a burlesque dance by the Kings dental dance society, fair ground games, ice cream stand, and a photo booth. It was a great opportunity to make new friends and meet people on our DFT1 schemes as well as catch up with familiar faces. It was a wonderful end to an incredible weekend which I’m sure the Birmingham dental students will remember for years to come.
