Not the Election but the Cheese and Wine Quiz

The Cheese and Wine Quiz evening was held on the night of the General Election and rather than counting votes, the students were counting the right answers.  There were some very difficult questions especially in the dental section.  “Where is Prof Lumley’s office?” and “where did Prof Walmsley qualify from?”  Luckily the quizmaster was Prof Walmsley and he kept everyone in check as much as he could.  The final years are always very boisterous as they have finished their papers and this is a night to let their hair down.  True to form the House Officers (now known as Dental Core Trainees) used their mobile phones for some of the answers – Tut, Tut. Thankfully it was a student’s team that won led by Chris Beech (with no mobile phone use).  For the first time in many years there was no need for a tie breaker, the Beech team won by a landslide.

Being an election night there was some Blue Cheese available but the Red Leicester was not seen on the table.  No other colours were present!!

As always a big thank you goes to the BUDSS committee for organising the evening and the team were ably led by Harjot Rai (4th Year).  This was Harjot’s last event to organise and now hands over to Stephanie Agar (3rd Year).

Also for those dental alumni out there, these are the last few chances you will get to see the old School and Hospital.  Next year we are in the new building 🙂
