As Professor Lumley approached the notice board to post the finals results, you could touch the tension amongst the final years. They had undergone “blood, toil, sweat and tears” during five years of the dentistry course at Birmingham. What was the result to be? Had they passed?
Prof Lumley paused for a few seconds and took his hands out of his pockets.
He was wearing “WHITE GLOVES”
The students erupted and the noise was deafening. Phones were used as video cameras, for calling home, sending text messages or even for the happiest selfie in the world.
Congratulations to the “White Glove” year of 2015 – the last year to graduate in the present building – you have some great memories to cherish.
