Kiran Gudray, Final Year Dental Student and organiser of the Talent Show Night writes:-
This year’s talent show was last to be held in our beloved AMLT. To mark this nostalgic occasion, the show’s theme was “The Oscars” and involved awards being presented to a number of DH’s most appreciated staff as decided by the student body.
There was a range of fantastic acts ranging from rapping to dancing and the winning act was a wonderful duet from Mahisa and Ann.
As always, we were lucky to have a wonderful judging panel including: Professor Rout, Dr Stewardson, Professor White, Dr Paul and Dr Gorecki.
Highlights from the night included a staff vs student lip sync battle with performances by Dr Gorecki, Dr Sharma, Professor Dietrich, Andre Xavier, Steph Agar and Jaspal Nagra. We were also delighted to have the lovely Tasha Chapple perform “Quiet” from the Matilda.
A huge thank you to Katie Oakley and Marina for capturing the night as well as, Lynne Reynolds, Phillip Murphy and Paul James lighting for all their help.
Prof Chapple was fantastic as the Compère holding the proceedings together and ensuring that everything ran on time.
As always, proceeds go to St Mary’s Hospice and this year we were lucky enough to have Laura from the hospice enjoy the show with us.
