Shiraz Khan, graduate of 2013 returned to Birmingham Dental School to provide lectures and hands-on posterior composite tips to final years as part of the Aesthetic-Restorative Special Study Module. It was a pleasure to have him back, as Shiraz has been striving to improve and succeed from the word go. Having completed foundation training in Kent, and doing a dental core training post between London and Surrey in Restorative Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, he currently resides in general practice part-time and works a Locum Speciality Trainee in Restorative Dentistry at Croydon University Hospital.
Shiraz said “It is nostalgic to be back here, particularly as this will be my last time back at the Dental Hospital before the move to Pebble Mill. Nonetheless, I was most-flattered that Louis Mackenzie had asked me to return to speak to the final years BDS students”. It was a genuine pleasure to have Shiraz back for the day and we look forward to welcoming him back to the new Dental Hospital at some point soon. #drshirazkhan #young #dentist #aspiration #achieve #workhard #playhard #lecturer #inspiration.

Also present at the school was another alumni Dipesh Parmer who was able to take some of the heat from Shiraz. Dipesh is rapidly becoming known nationally for his clinical work especially with composite resins. We were very fortunate that both were able to come to the school. All credit goes to Louis Mackenzie who arranged the student seminar. Thank you, Louis!
