Entertainment at U21

The annual dinner of U21 was held at the Council House and there was entertainment performed by an interprofessional group of performers from Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing. The U21 international delegates enjoyed the meal in the beautiful setting of the council house and then were treated to a wide ranging performance by our students and staff The acts were introduced by the eloquent Samantha Weever (BDS4) who compèred the evening. The performance opened with the Bhangra Dancing groupd who impressed with their enthusiasm and agility. The dancers were Gursimar Sekhon – BDS4, Hardeep Hundal – BDS4, Aman Gill – BDS3 and Raj Kaur – Pharmacy. This was followed by some powerful and moving singing from Elen Rowlands, BDS4. Next, there was a change of tempo with a violin recital from Ann Lu, BDS3. Both acts were accompanied on keyboard by the talented Jason Taveres, BDS4.  Finally, Amelia Swift (Senior Lecturer in Nursing) with friends Brendan & Craig gave an Acapella/Guitar performance with several well-known folk songs. It was a fantastic exhibition of music and entertainment. This was a good example of interprofessional collaboration in the Health Sciences and was well received by our U21 delegates.
