I am excited to announce that the School of Dentistry has been awarded funding from the Alumni Impact Fund to start a public engagement project called Open Wide. The funding will allow us to have an exhibition space in the foyer of the Dental Hospital that will display a quarterly changing exhibit that will be a response to the research that goes on in the school. Additionally we will also create a display area on the second floor of the hospital for the Ronald Cohen Collection of historical and precious artefacts from the history of the school.
Across this first year we will be displaying responses to research on biomineralisation, biofilms, neutrophils and low level light therapy. The first exhibit is expected to start in June and will display ‘Microbe Mouth’ which was developed by Dr Rachel Sammons, artist Anna Dumitriu and me for the Science Gallery London’s Mouthy season at the end of 2016.
If you have ideas and/or want to be involved – let me know!
