The staff student cricket took place at the Tally Ho police training centre, a stone’s throw away from the Edgbaston stadium. The Tally Ho pitches are next to the Pershore Road and within walking distance of the dental school. A new venue for this annual match.
It was a fiercely competitive match and the staff batted first. They amassed a large total and capitalised on some poor fielding by the students. However the final total was achievable and the students despite loosing early wickets batted well rushing towards the staff total. However in the final over, the students fell short giving victory to the staff. Until next year for a keenly anticipated rematch……
