We said goodbye to Jill Boylan who has been a long serving member of the Hospital and School. Jill started as a secretary with the Hospital but then moved over to the Dental School where she looked after Clinical Practice and Dr David Attrill. It was during this time that she was nominated for a BUAFTA (Birmingham University Awards for Tremendous Achievement) for all her work at the Dental School. In her later time she became the PA for the Head of School and in this role she looked after Professor Philip Lumley.
She enjoyed working for the Dental School especially as she was working with all her close friends in School Office. She will be sadly missed but we hope that she does keep in contact with us. She had several leaving parties with each one being a great deal of fun, Prof Chapple, Dr Attrill and Prof Lumley all added their thoughts and memories of Jill. All the stories had lots of warmth in them but also a lot of fun times were remembered. Well done Jill and all the best on your retirement.
