As you can see from the pictures they are divvying up donations and preparing to go. Dr Upen Patel and 11 dental students from Birmingham Dental School; Miss Lydia Crisp (3rd year), Mr Jacob Howard (3rd year), Mr Rahul Pathak (3rd year), Mr Satvinder Sangar (3rd year), Miss Kaval Turna (3rd year), Miss Priyanka Haria (4th year), Miss Jasmeet Heran (4th year), Mr Aakash Mayor (4th year), Miss Snehal Sharma (4th year), Mr Bhawandeep Singh (4th year), Miss Alisha Ubhoo (4th year) will be volunteering with Satya Samaj UK to provide oral and dental care to those underprivileged adults and children in the Rishikesh and Himalayan region of India.
They are set to depart at the end of March 2018 and plan to spend the first week in April providing voluntary services in a camp and will be visiting local villages in the Himalayan region with the aim of providing care to those less fortunate and who have not had the privilege to access even the basic of health care and facilities.
The dental students will be hosting bake sales and other charitable events to raise money to purchase dental materials and equipment to help as many people as they can.
