All week Open Wide has been hosting workshops in the foyer as part of the University’s Arts and Science Festival (https://artsandsciencefestival.co.uk/). Visitors, staff and students have been making felt microbes to take home or to incorporate into the Slime Cities exhibition, which explores the biofilms of our mouths. The types of microbes have been many and varied – from strings of Streptococci and flagellated Pseudomonads to ‘bee’ and ‘ladybird’ microbes too! The workshops run til the 16th of March and there is more information on the open wide website (https://bdhopenwide.com/exhibitions/slime-cities/) and on the arts and science festival website (https://artsandsciencefestival.co.uk/festival-event/felt-microbe/).
