Stefan Serban, Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher and PhD student writes about the interaction between the Dental School and the Birmingham Rotary Club.
“Friday morning when I had the honour to be the guest speaker for Rotary Club of Birmingham Breakfast about my research topic Associations between periodontitis/tooth loss and rheumatoid arthritis disease markers. This is the first lecture that I provided as part of my public engagement initiative about my research topic. The members of Rotary Club of Breakfast Birmingham received very well the presentation and asked lots of questions at the end of the presentation about the relationships between rheumatoid arthritis and periodontal disease. At the end of the presentation I was most surprised to receive a very nice certificate as expression of appreciation for the lecture provided. The certificate was handed on to me by Mr. Frank Brophy (President of the club for 2011-2012).”
