Michael Sandholzer, PhD student writes,
The British Society of Oral and Dental Research held its conference in Bath and the University of Birmingham was well represented by both doctoral students and senior researchers.  For some students such as Helen and Phillipa. it was their first oral presentation at a conference ever and they did really, really well. Professor Iain Chapple gave the prestigious ‘Graham Embery Lecture’ on Tuesday evening enhancing Birmingham’s reputation – so well into double figures with the contributions by School Researchers. Topics of the talks/posters given included dental education, biofilm mineralisation, neural regeneration using stem cells, dental nanostructures, neutrophils and general dental services.  The Conference location in the Assembly rooms and Hilton was very nice and situated in Bath city centre.  I am not able to tell you too much about the official evening events, as students preferred to have their own food & drinks (cheaper option to Gala Dinner).
